Creator Day at Home Mountain: Skiing Indoors with SkyTech Sport

Something exciting is just around the corner at Home Mountain Ski Club. For the very first time, we are opening our doors for a Creator Day — a special event built around sharing the magic of indoor skiing and snowboarding with some of the most creative, enthusiastic voices in our local community. In partnership with Kalo, we have invited a hand-picked group of local content creators to come in, strap on boots, step onto the SkyTech Sport snow simulator, and experience what skiing and snowboarding feels like — no mountains, no snow, no waiting for winter. We genuinely cannot wait.
Why We Partnered with Kalo for Our First Creator Day
Kalo brings together a vibrant network of local creators who are genuinely passionate about trying new things and sharing those experiences with their audiences. When we approached them about Creator Day, the response was immediate enthusiasm. We knew that pairing authentic storytellers with the immersive, hands-on experience of the SkyTech Sport snow simulator would make for content that is not just entertaining, but genuinely meaningful for people curious about the sport. Our shared goal is simple: grow winter sports by making them more accessible, more visible, and more exciting for people who may never have considered skiing or snowboarding as something they could try right here, year-round.
Who Will Be Coming Through the Doors

The creator lineup is shaping up to be wonderfully diverse. Some of our invited guests are seasoned skiers and snowboarders who have logged real days on the mountain — they are coming in curious to see how simulator training compares to the real thing and how it could sharpen their technique between seasons. Others are completely new to winter sports and will be stepping onto a ski or snowboard simulator for the very first time. We are looking forward to watching both groups find their footing, build confidence, and have a great time. That mix of experience levels is exactly what makes an event like this so exciting to host.
The SkyTech Sport Snow Simulator Experience
The centrepiece of the day will be, of course, the SkyTech Sport snow simulator. For anyone unfamiliar, the simulator uses a continuously moving surface that replicates the feel of real snow underfoot, allowing riders to practise skiing and snowboarding movements in a fully controlled indoor environment. Our instructors will be on hand throughout the event to guide creators through proper stance, weight distribution, and turning technique — the same fundamentals we teach in every regular session at Home Mountain. For the experienced riders, it will be a chance to work on edge control and carving in a way that is genuinely hard to replicate off-season. For the newcomers, it will be a safe, supportive first taste of what gliding on snow actually feels like. We are confident the simulator is going to deliver on both counts.
Growing Winter Sports Through Authentic Storytelling
One of our core beliefs at Home Mountain is that the more people who discover a love for skiing and snowboarding, the better — for the sport, for the community, and for the mountains themselves. Creator Day is a direct expression of that belief. When a content creator shares their genuine, unscripted reaction to stepping onto a ski simulator for the first time, that moment reaches audiences who might never have walked into a ski school or considered a winter holiday. It plants a seed. It says: this is something you can try, this is approachable, and it looks like a lot of fun — because it genuinely is. We are so grateful to every creator who has agreed to come along and give our facility and the SkyTech Sport simulator a real, honest go.
What Comes After Creator Day
July 25 is shaping up to be a landmark day for Home Mountain, and we are already thinking about how we build on it. We have ideas forming for future events that push the experience even further, and we hope Creator Day will be the first of many. If you are a content creator, a local business, or a community group interested in hosting a private session or event at Home Mountain, we would love to hear from you. And if news of this event has sparked your curiosity about trying the SkyTech Sport snow simulator yourself, our regular sessions are open to all levels — complete beginners and experienced riders alike. Winter sports belong to everyone, and we are here year-round to help you find your way into them.
